In this 10-year trapping study we contrasted seasonal small mammal population abundances in spruce plantations with four birch forest varieties.
It's a good question, of the tree-in-the-forest variety, I guess the data can be used to persuade people that things really are moving in the right direction, even if they don't feel it just yet.
