Operational simplification (fewer products, no promotions, predictable deliveries, and so on) and the standardization of routine processes (such as unloading trucks, shelving, and cleaning) further reduce variability and make it possible to more accurately forecast workloads.
Through classifying and comparing top-down and bottom-up methods in terms of their key features and applications, it is found that the existing methods are either lack of forecasting accuracy or burdened with forecasting workload.
The main coordination and control mechanisms ensure that the process plans are properly executed and emergently forecast the workload of the manufacturing resources as well as well as lead times and routings of the products.
Frequent problems with releasing time arise from poor statistical forecasting of workload by service based on day of the week, not from releasing allocated OR time too many or too few days in advance [ 1, 20].
