What made you choose that voice for this character?
"That was the particular affinity Chris had for this character.
It was imperative to start laying the ground for this character.
The innate quality of melancholy in Björling's warm, rich sound is perfect for this character.
"I gave myself so much for this project, for this character," he says.
Prokofiev had a soft spot for this character, whose music is alternately blaring and tender.
For this character she created a hospital bed, modeled after a 15th century cradle at the Metropolitan Museum.
For the reader, as well as for this character, what you remember is what you have seen.
"The truth is, it was a good story for this character," she said of the skin cancer scare.
SB: I auditioned for Miller's Crossing, read the pages for this character, which was five pages of dialogue straight.
"Then I thought: Rather than complain about the situation, maybe I should take responsibility for this character and do something," he said.
