What are the sources for their facts?
In a letter to the Savannah Republican, Peter W. Alexander, one of the most skillful Southern correspondents, wrote, "The truth is there are correspondents who invariably magnify our successes and depreciate our losses, and who when there is a dearth of news will draw upon their imagination for their facts".
If they're right we might have some respect for their fact-checking skills.
