In a randomized study on nondiabetic BC patients in natural menopause with high testosterone levels, we observed a significant decrease in insulin and in testosterone levels with metformin 1500 mg/d compared with 1000 mg/d.
As expected, GnRH neutralization led to a decrease in testosterone levels, and we observed a reduction in testosterone starting from day 28, coincidentally with reaching high antibody titers after the booster immunisation (Fig. 6, b and c).
For both lines, we observed identical sequences.

Several studies examined whether the SHBG-diabetes relation was independent of sex hormones and reported that the relation remained [ 25, 26].We observed that further adjustment for total testosterone levels had little impact on the estimates, suggesting that the mechanisms whereby SHBG contributes to diabetes development may be independent of testosterone [ 28].
