This paper describes the integration of three applications related to archetypes and terminology systems, a) an editor for archetype development, b) MoST; a system for selecting terms from SNOMED CT to be bound to archetypes, and c) TermViz; a tool for visualizing and navigating terminology systems.
Thus, the process of selecting terms for inclusion in 'Polygnosis' thesaurus involved the consulting of various related sources.
The frequency of these topic terms is calculated and frequent terms are selected and semantic similar terms for these selected terms are computed using WordNet application programming interface (API) [43] which are collectively computed and taken as input to the next stage.
For 1000 randomly selected terms from MeSH (see Supplementary Table S3) we generated terms on the basis of text from 250 PubMed abstracts per MeSH term and mapped the generated terms to GO, MeSH, OBO, and UMLS. Figure 2 (top) shows the mean percentage of generated terms which exist as term in these ontologies.
For each selected term of p A, Z with the wrong sign, determine the corresponding 2 s -nuclei of the DSR-graph that have the wrong sign.
To select terms for a given class, we use the feature selection algorithm in Figure 13.6 : We compute the utility measure as and select the terms with the largest values.
We have used the logical operator "OR" to select alternate words and synonyms, and the logical operator "AND" to select terms for population, intervention, and outcome (see Fig. 2).
We found that the main GO terms were represented in both gene list A and gene list B. Furthermore, the proportion (number of genes in A/number of genes in B) associated with specific GO terms was similar for all terms, as illustrated for selected GO terms in Table 1.
The total number of annotated proteins for newt and zebrafish datasets and all proteins within the GOA database (as of October 2008) were calculated for selected GO terms and used to determine the ratio of the total number of annotated proteins within the GO term "biological process" for all three databases used.
Where necessary, the entries for selected pollen terms have been refined by rewording or adding definitions, illustrations, and new micrographs.
