For maximal load carrying capacity, the coating should not only be a single layer but an optimised layer stack or a coating with graded mechanical properties.
The load and displacement were detected simultaneously as it reflected by load-displacement nanoindentation curve on Fig. 1a for maximal load of 10 mN and loading-unloading rate of 20 mN/min.
The trapezoidal load-displacement curves (as those shown in Fig. 1 for As40Se60 and Ga3(As0.40Se0.60)97 glasses) were detected simultaneously for maximal load of 10 mN and loading-unloading rate of 20 mN/min, the dwell time at maximal loading being set to 15 s.
After three weeks of tail suspension, the bone strength at the tibia in the unloaded group (HS) was 28.5% weaker (measured by maximal load and load at the yield point) than that of the bones from the control rats (44.7 N versus 62.3 N for maximal load and 36.4 N versus 51.3 N for load at the yield point, P < 0.001).
Cyclic loading of samples was synchronized with CDD camera trigger for registering images of samples surfaces at the moments of maximal loading.
Looking at the loading to failure after cyclic loading to evaluate the residual stability of the reconstructions, the result showed again a trend for better outcomes in terms of maximal load, yield load, stiffness and displacement for jail technique (Table 3).
In obtained results, there were no significant differences in the values of the stress determined at the point of maximal load and the energy stored in the samples for proportional stress strain limit (elastic region).
Since the tested DRC flows under loading, especially those, which are insufficiently polymerized (Fig. 1b), the maximal loading force was applied for 180 s.
Statistical optimization, using response surface methodology, of sonication parameters (8 min, 0.4 cycle and 60% amplitude) for maximal curcumin loading (86%), has shown major morphology directing effect generating triads, tetrads, amongst others and chain-like arrangement (TEM imaging) of the bio-conjugated nanoparticles (80 90 nm).
Extrapolations are given for minimal and maximal load effects for any return period.
