Today, the app is used by a million people every month, and 250,000 people pay the $20 annual subscription for the expanded service.
Equipment prices -- what you pay to rent the cable box or an HD converter -- also went up at a higher rate than inflation, 4.4percentt for basic service and 4.2percentt for expanded basic service.
But it also is a way for LINE to offer an expanded service compared to its more immediate messaging competitors.
