In the past two decades, there has been a large increase in budget airline travel offerring either increased availability of sunshine holidays for more deprived groups, with narrowing of the deprivation gap, or a further increase in such holidays for the less deprived, resulting in a widened gap.
Survival rates for the most deprived groups seem to have been catching up.
For the most deprived groups, disadvantage is amplified among those with increased travel time to services.
Coverage is lower in the most deprived groups for all reviews, and the discrepancy progressively increases for reviews at older ages (78% and 92% coverage for the 39 42 month review in most and least deprived groups).
