Second, very shallow cAMP gradients induce a directional bias of splitting pseudopodia (half-maximal effect at a gradient of 0.2 nM/µm), while ten-fold steeper gradients are required to induce a de novo pseudopodia in the direction of the gradient (unpublished data).
