Commissioned by Peak Performances, "Fold Here" marks the first time that Ms. Miller has collaborated with designers and a composer from the earliest phases of a work's development.
In her new work, "Fold Here," a commission from the excellent Peak Performances series, Ms. Miller draws inspiration from a Raymond Carver short story, "Cathedral," about a relationship between a blind man and a sighted one.
In Andrea Miller's "Fold Here," which had its world premiere at the Alexander Kasser Theater here on Thursday, nine dancers extracted meaning after meaning, function after function, from that six-sided object.
