In cells that were allowed to re-aggregate, new cell cell contacts formed (as indicated by the focused distribution of C-cadherin) and xMELK was found concentrated at the newly formed cell cell contacts.
The focused distribution and the specificity of the breeding sites allowed a control strategy based on treatment of the larval sites with a larvivorous autochthonous fish, complemented with pinpoint use of bacterial toxins (3 ).
