The phrase "flutter their wings" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe the action of birds or insects moving their wings rapidly, often in a playful or excited manner.
Example: "As the sun began to rise, the butterflies started to flutter their wings, creating a beautiful display of colors."
Alternatives: "flap their wings" or "wave their wings."
