The presence of the ester group in lubricants confers low-temperature fluidity and reduces volatility at high temperatures.
The two factors that make PSII electron transport most susceptible to heat stress are (i) increases in the fluidity of thylakoid membranes at high temperature which causes PSII light harvesting complexes to become dislodged from the thylakoid membrane and (ii) dependence of PSII integrity on electron dynamics [ 44].
Test results have revealed that at high shear rates, the fluidity of mortars increased regardless of the dosage and type of mineral admixtures.

The authors hypothesized that this repression could compensate for probable greater transport activity resulting from higher membrane fluidity at elevated temperatures.
This may be due to higher fluidity of lipid bilayers at higher temperatures resulting in higher drug leakage.
Menadione is also an effective arylating agent in addition to its redox-cycling behavior and, especially at high concentrations (higher than 0.2 mM), it enhances membrane fluidity [ 30].
