This paper presents a mixed-integer programming model for a multi-floor layout design of cellular manufacturing systems (CMSs) in a dynamic environment.
Architectural floor plan layout design is what architects and designers do when they conceptually combine design units, such as rooms or compartments.
We demonstrate the proposed methodology by applying it to architectural floor plan layout design, where a number of spaces with well defined functionalities have to be arranged such that particular functional design constraints are maintained.
Comparative testing shows that the proposed algorithm performs better than other existing algorithm for the multi-floor facility layout design.
