These conditions are characteristic of floods applied to western Canadian cranberry farms.
Floods applied in newer offshore, deep water fields are rarely drilled in any sort of regular pattern, and there is no steady state.
This paper reports a comparative study of the use of palaeohydrological and hydrological techniques to estimate magnitude and frequency of floods applied to two high-gradient, small catchments located in the Spanish Central Pyrenees: the Arás basin, 18.6 km2; the Montardit basin, 15.2 km2.
Its displacement performance was systematically evaluated and compared with the other two injections modes (i.e. direct foam flooding and CO2/SP flooding) which applied the same amount of the gas and chemicals as the proposed mode.
Also, in many cases, the polymer flooding is applied as a secondary recovery in place of waterflooding, when the oil is viscous (Farouq-Ali and Thomas 1996).
The results showed that, when microemulsion flooding is applied, the displacement efficiency is 21.5%, whereas with the conventional method the efficiency is 41%.
Even when flooding was applied to only a section of the stem (achieved by sealing a part of the intact stem in a glass cuvette filled with water), adventitious roots emerged, indicating that their induction is independent of flooding of the primary root system (Fig. 1D).
Results also indicate that friction is a second order effect in flood inundation models applied to gradually varied flow in large rivers.
