The Welsh springer spaniel, known since at least the 14th century, is somewhat smaller than the English; its flat coat is always red-brown and white, with feathering on the chest, legs, and belly.
Shelter staff believes he is about 7 years old and describes him as a flat coat retriever.
(C ) If beta was sufficiently flexible to form 120° angles, hexagonal faces could form, leading to assembly of a flat coat, as hypothesized by Stagg et al. (2008).
The goal is to have a nice flat coat that is balanced and symmetrical.
The results show that NiO/8YSZ forms a uniform and flat coating with small-sized pores.
However, in the edge region, crucial for cutting applications, the coating is strongly curved and can, thus, have different properties and hence performance compared to the flat coating.
The change in Al/Ti relative concentration between curved and flat coating (up to −14% at the distance 0.5 μm from the substrate coating interface) was found to be dependent on the substrate geometry, being more pronounced for geometries with narrower angles and smaller radii of curvature.
Descendant breeds of the English Water Spaniel are thought to include the American Water Spaniel which was also developed using additional stock from the Irish Water Spaniel and the Flat Coated Retriever breeds.

In the group of purebred dogs, the percentage of CMSs was higher in large breeds (38.7%, n = 12), i.e. German Shepherds (n = 4) and Rottweilers (n = 2), and single CMS cases were noted in the following breeds: St. Bernard, Tosa Inu, Doberman Pinscher, Flat Coated Retriever, Labrador Retriever and German Shorthaired Pointer.
Additional breeds diagnosed with EHPSS were the Lhasa Apso, Miniature Poodle, Norfolk terrier with two cases, and single cases of a Basset Hound, Bolognese, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Epagneul Nain Papillon, Flat Coated Retriever, Fox terrier, Giant Spitz, Great Dane, Miniature Pinscher, Norwich terrier and Welsh terrier.
