As each oocyte was at a particular time point in meiosis when it was fixed, the abundance of fixed oocytes in any configuration should be proportional to the length of time that oocytes dwell in that configuration during oogenesis.
Comparisons of niche to neutral simulations in a saturated system of fixed total abundance have shown that they can predict similar species-abundance distributions and species-area relationships [11], demonstrating that neutral patterns need not imply neutral processes [12].
Corresponding to each type of codon j is one of 41 iso-accepting tRNA species, denoted ϕ (j ), which has a fixed total abundance T ϕ (j ) t in the cell.
