To fit source and background spectra simultaneously with distinct RMFs and ARFs, follow the Independent Background Responses thread.
To plot multiple contour components at the same time (e.g. fit, source, and residuals), use the contour command ("ahelp contour").
To plot other contour components at the same time (e.g. fit, source, and residuals), use the contour command ("ahelp contour").
If the 'bkg_only' argument is changed from the default False to True, only the background data sets ready for fitting will be fit; source data sets ready for fitting will be ignored in this case.
If you would like to fit a background-subtracted source spectrum using a common RMF and ARF for the source and background, or fit source and background spectra simultaneously with proper and distinct RMFs and ARFs (but with one response per model expression, unlike in this thread), refer to the Sherpa thread Simultaneously Fitting Source and Background Spectra.

Each raw data point represents the fitted source flux from one 90 second dwell.
