A polysaccharide synthesis gene cluster (pel) is common to all P. protegens strains and located upstream of the Fit cluster.
The fit cluster in P. chlororaphis strains 30-84 and O6 is located in a different part of the genome within a 24-28 gene insertion (Fig. 3b) [ 17].
