Eighty-four percent of landings by weight were Nephrops (Figure 13b), representing nearly 87% of the value of Clyde fisheries (Figure 14).
Applying our findings to a global fishery scenario, shelf water cascading sites identified worldwide [31], [41] could be considered as regions favorable for deep-sea demersal fisheries, in a similar way the upwelling zones are considered favorable regions for pelagic fisheries (Figure S9).
Asia is by far the most important continent for inland capture fisheries (Figure 22), and it is here that the largest increase in inland resource use has been occurring.
IAS (2009) in a survey in 2008-2009 of the finfish fishing of 46 villages in 22 districts of 10 provinces in Fiji involving 2,802 fishing trips offers some insight into the types of finfish that are especially common in the coastal fisheries (Figure 1).
Although the Ballantrae grounds had long been subject to changes in fortunes of the herring fishery, Figure 2 shows that after the introduction of the seine net on the bank, average landings per boat declined.
Like in the nkacha net fishery, small and large haplochromines (kambuzi and mbaba) are the most important sources of income in the kambuzi seine fishery (Figure 10.10).
By the mid 1980s no wet boats (those that held prawns in ice or chilled brine only) remained in the fishery (Figure 2).
Small fish such as kambuzi, utaka and usipa are an important part of the total catch in the project area and the target species for the majority of the traders in the artisanal sector of the fishery (Figure 9.2).

Thus, with a few exceptions (e.g., Cuthbert and Hilton [28]), eradicating non-native predators would not substantially help the suite of large-bodied seabirds most threatened by fisheries bycatch (Figure 3).
