In October 1978, Black Flag released the Nervous Breakdown EP, a four-track, rapid-fire statement of intent that signalled the birth of hardcore.
"The chairman said that, if the DG wanted to state publicly that he believed Real Lives should be broadcast, that would be a 'resignation statement or a firing statement'".
His position – open defiance of the governors – was regarded by Young as "a resignation statement or a firing statement", according to the minutes of what was clearly a thunderously ill-tempered board meeting.
He was shot in the return fire, the statement said.
When the forces arrived, they came under fire, the statement said.
"Responding in self-defense, the ground force returned fire," the statement said.
The incident is under investigation but does not appear to be the result of enemy fire, the statement said.
After getting the crew to a safe place, the men were unable to prevent the pirates from boarding and jumped overboard under fire, the statement said.
A Lancashire fire brigade statement said firefighters were tackling the blaze from three locations, assisted by mountain rescue officers and United Utilities a water company.
"The soldier, Zakirullah, resident of Nangarhar Province, who had joined the puppet army for the very purpose, was martyred by the U.S. invaders during the exchange of fire," the statement said.
