As a result, after completing a degree and spending over £10,000 on a legal-practice course, thousands of aspiring lawyers are finding themselves unable to find the trainee position they need to qualify.
Trainees reported higher levels of creative self-efficacy, motivation to innovate, idea generation and patent submissions than non-trainees: while creative thinking skills were shown to be associated with higher levels of idea generation, no difference was found comparing trainees to non- trainees.
Along with a limited construct validity and reliability, we found that trainees were discontented with the face-validity (trainees question whether the test measures the intended construct) and educational impact of the test [ 5, 6].
Our finding of an association of chronic disease exposure with the trainees being in their first term of training is in contrast to the Dutch study of de Jong et al. [ 19, 20] which found senior trainees saw more chronic disease than junior trainees.
In a training program for American surgical residents, Pollock and colleagues found that trainees in research ethics were better able than non-trainees to deal with problems relating to how to proceed if they lacked a sufficient quantity of a reagent critical for experimental data replication, and if they had problems with discordant or outlier experimental data.
This was not found for trainees.

However, in postgraduate GP training, it was found that trainees scored higher on more traditional communication skills (e.g. history taking) as compared to affective communication skills such as dealing with emotions and exploration of expectations and feelings [ 51].
Programme evaluations have found that trainees and graduates of applied epidemiology training programmes form solid networks in the country's health systems, with the majority of them remaining in public health in their home countries [ 18, 20, 22, 29].
