To compensate speech features for robust ASR, there are two popular feature-processing schemes, i.e., the linear transformation of feature vectors and the temporal filtering of feature trajectories, as illustrated in Fig. 4. Linear transformation uses all dimensions of the current frame to predict new features that fit the acoustic model under the maximum-likelihood (ML) criterion [30, 41].
Pre-filtering of features decreased the size of dataset to 7182 features corresponding to 5840 genes with unique gene symbol.
In this approach, the components are described and virtualized in a module communicating through two dedicated events, they are registered in a Resources Manager to facilitate the fine management of concurrent multimodal interactions, and the system supports an interoperable discovery, registration and filtering of the features provided by heterogeneous and dynamic components in the web of things.
We adopt a Screen and Clean procedure [ 38] on top of lasso as our baseline statistical framework to allow further filtering of detected features based on p-values.
This analysis offers filtering of reference features in two ways: either by minimum and maximum RPKM value (total exon reads per million mapped reads per kilobase of exon model) (Mortazavi et al., 2008) or simply by minimum and maximum raw read count (Supplementary Fig. S8).
Although caution is warranted regarding the interpretation of time-varying ssVEP as reflecting solely attentional selection, the biphasic increase in electrocortical activity following T1 across conditions may indicate selection or filtering of visual features specific to T1. Future work including a lag1 condition within the present design may shed light on this issue.
In order to increase the power of statistical testing for detecting differential expressed genes, we performed pre-filtering of features removing those, which never show expression over 6 in log2 scale.
From the NB filtered list of features, an HNB classification model is constructed.
In particular, each of the model components is defined by linear and non-linear computational stages: Feedforward integration via linear or non-linear filtering of input feature activations.
The framework has two main components: a filter component, which uses a filter method of feature selection and a wrapper component, which implements a wrapper method of feature selection with a machine learning based occupancy estimator.
