A random sample of one million records was drawn from the Subsample Inpatient Core File for the study (924 hospitals).
To create the cohort, we used the Medicare enrollment file for the study period, which provides a listing of all Medicare enrollees, along with demographic information (age, race, and sex) and ZIP code of residence.
The rules for naming the four file formats defined in the ISA-TAB-Nano specification are i_xxxx.txt for the Investigation file, s_xxxx.txt for the Study file, a_xxxx.txt for the Assay file, and m_xxxx.txt for the Material file, where 'xxxx' denotes a unique string.
The use and nature of non-pharmacological comfort interventions, as well as the nature and number of physical restraints will be derived from daily logs by the contact nurses and by studying patient files for the total study period of 26 weeks.
For treatments applied in 2009, a shorter than three-year after period was defined as accident files available for the study were limited by 2011.
The death registration data files used for the study had identifying details, including names, addresses, and dates of birth, removed.
All Data Descriptors should include one or more tables detailing the inputs (e.g. tissue samples, field sites, literature sources) and outputs (e.g. data files) for the presented study.
All data supporting the somatic mutations reported in the manuscript are provided in Additional files 6, 7 and 9. Sanger sequencing files for the entire study will be made available through dbGAP with controlled access.
