Locate the original program or file, right-click on the icon and select Create Shortcut.
In fact, if it's an Office document (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), you can open the file right there in the message, even if you don't own Office.
And if you mouse over a link to a sound or movie file, it will play the file right in the popup.

Once you have downloaded the file, right-click on the file and select "Run as administrator".
To see details on a file, right-click it and choose Properties.
