Center time and vertical activity in the open field arena did not differ between strains [center time: strain×minutes interaction, F(14,252) = 1.2, p = .29; vertical activity: F(14,252) = 1.4, p = .17 ].
These results suggest that the stress field does not differ significantly within Region B, although several focal mechanisms similar to Reference mechanism A are observed in the shallow part of Region B. We found that the earthquakes in Region A tend to be distributed within a horizontal zone (Fig. 3) that is approximately parallel to the upper surface of the PHS plate.
The organic fields did not differ from the conventional in their floral resources or proportion of surrounding uncultivated land.
Field edges in conventional fields contained much higher aphid abundances than field centres, whereas the low aphid numbers in organic fields did not differ between edges and centres (Fig. 3a, Table 3).
The spatial properties of NV-WO fields did not differ dramatically from those of the other conditions (see Table 1).
