Although children who were breast-fed had higher PDI and MDI scores than children who were not breast-fed, this effect was statistically significant only for MDI [1.14 points; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.08 2.20), independent of DDE level.
Adrenalectomy also produced a trend to decrease AGRP mRNA in the ad-lib fed mice but this effect was not significant (Fig. 2A).
Interestingly, insulin-stimulated Akt phosphorylation shows a trend to be decreased by 4 weeks of high-fat feeding, though this effect did not reach statistical significance until after 8 weeks; a similar pattern was observed in liver tissue [ 25].
