They're supposedly going to add the check-in feature — and Latitude is built-in to the Maps application on all Android phones.
Besides its popular Maps desktop program, Google offers a basic mapping service that works across all major mobile operating systems and a mobile mapping feature called Latitude that lets users share their locations with friends.
Back in May, Google told us that they were evaluating building a native iPhone app with the launch of iOS 4.0, which allowed for background location (a core feature of Latitude).
