We call a genotype viable in a given chemical environment if, according to FBA, it can synthesize biomass at some strictly positive rate in this environment.
However, regarding flux distributions predicted by constrained optimization methods as FBA it is desirable to judge their feasibility not only post-hoc but to include thermodynamic constraints on flux directionalities directly into their calculation [ 21- 23].
However the inclusion of such genes as well as additional connections of existing genes in the network would add to the constraints on FBA; it would be interesting to see the extent to which regulatory dynamics enhances metabolic efficiency in different environmental conditions.

We removed the biomass "reaction"; it is useful for FBA, since it describes the target flux to cellular growth, but is meaningless in our context.
This modeling technique is commonly referred to as flux-balance analysis (FBA) as it presumes all internal fluxes to be balanced (steady-state condition).
MOMA is also based on the same stoichiometric constraints as FBA, but it relaxes the assumption of optimal growth flux for the mutants.
An example of this would be if Hydro Flask operated their own separate e-commerce store on Shopify — when a customer places an order on the Shopify store, Hydro Flask can send the order to FBA (you guessed it — via an external API) and FBA will ship it directly to the customer.
It does not include the low-confidence or hypothetical reactions and metabolites required to conduct FBA, nor does it include constraints on reaction reversibility which may be added in the course of model-building.
The FBA system made it possible to automatically prepare the calibration and validation sets.
The huge advantage of FBA is that it allows an investigation of the desired organism without prior knowledge of enzyme kinetics.
A condition is considered to be a valid condition only if FBA shows that it supports the growth of wild-type organisms.
