In this study, an original fatigue testing setup was developed to investigate the effect of aqueous solutions and temperature on the fatigue strength on the martensitic stainless steel X19CrMoVNbN11-1 used for rotating blades and (ii) a cast G17CrMoV5-10 steel used for casing.

This detailed model of the fretting-fatigue experimental setup was then used for computing the stress field histories of periodically loaded specimens.
The existence of such a correlation enables to define and setup environmental fatigue acceleration procedures.

A mechanical testing setup was developed to study the fatigue response of fine thermo-sonic wire bond connection in low profile quad flat packages (LQFP).
Only failure strength is considered in this work, however the test setup is developed to also allow fatigue testing with repetitive loading.
