Sports cars have high fatality rates even though they are often well engineered, but they tend to be driven by younger males who go fast, pushing up the death rate.
Indeed, those regions appear as outliers, far beyond average fatality rates, even when considering separately the most urban areas and their vicinity (Fig. 4).
