Analysis to date has revealed that: (i) smaller objects can be expected to corrode faster because of a greater capture efficiency of salt aerosols; (ii) objects exposed to faster wind speeds and aerosols will corrode faster; and (iii) objects in the lee of prevailing winds from an aerosol source will corrode faster than objects on the windward side of an aerosol source.
This persistent and variable feature has been detected in many observations of PDS 456, in particular by XMM-Newton, Suzaku and NuSTAR, together with other blueshifted absorption lines in the soft energy band (e.g. Nardini et al. 2015, Reeves et al. 2016) and a possible highly blueshifted line around 11 keV from an even faster wind of a velocity of 0.45c (Reeves et al. 2018).
Strong winds are usually difficult to handle with quadcopters, and fix-wing aircrafts can handle faster wind speeds.
The correlation is slightly better for the CH area in microwaves, suggesting that faster wind originates from higher magnetic field regions.
In addition to the wind variability over time and plume diffusivity, the different wind datasets employed by the two models may also play a role in differences in model output: at lower altitudes (<1 km), the ECMWF data used by TEPHRA2 has comparatively faster wind speeds than the NCEP/NCAR data used by VOL-CALPUFF (Fig. 2), which may help to compensate for the less lateral dispersal in the plume.
(Thicker lines indicate faster wind).

This cools the Earth's surface and reduces daytime vertical convection that mixes the slower winds found near the ground with the faster winds at higher altitudes.
The researchers report that the improvement is largely because with faster winding, the nanotubes align better and pack together more tightly.
That amount--roughly 10% of the total released annually by human activity--could rise if global warming heats the sea and spawns storms with faster winds, he notes.
