The prevalence of neonatal lab-confirmed infection among newborns of mothers with risk factors (premature rupture of membranes, preterm premature rupture of membranes, prolonged rupture of membranes) ranged from 2.9-19.22.9-19.2%ng on the risk factor.
Liver cirrhosis, gas-forming abscess, abscess ≥ 6 cm in diameter, and other septic metastases have been reported as risk factors for rupture.
