The ferrous iron efflux protein (FieF) is in the family of cation diffusion facilitators (CDF) which may export both divalent zinc and iron [ 58].
This study has identified a number of knowledge- and information-based barriers and facilitators to dietary change, which may be valuable in informing future trial design, most notably information provision and the role of men's partners.
