A long-standing CBPR partnership designed the faith-enhancement from focus group data (N = 64 AA adults) integrating five components: a brief pastor led sermon, memory verse, in class or take-home faith activity, promises to remember, and scripture and prayer integrated into participant curriculum and facilitator materials.
For example, LTG-PD studied by Jacobs et al. (2017) is highly specified, with both videos and facilitation materials determined by the designers and provided to facilitators.
Resources included preparation of facilitator training materials, facilitator training, investigator time to plan the fidelity study, and time to undertake transcript coding and analysis.
Results from both fidelity instruments indicate that the facilitator used the materials as intended by the developers.
The instruction manual discusses the materials, facilitator notes, teachable moments, assessment and pre- and post-simulation activities in great detail, and provides practical ways to get the most out of the role-play.
