This theory suggests that signal enhancement (i.e., facilitation) works as a gain control, increasing the sensitivity of neurons to properties of the attended stimulus, relatively enhancing processing of stimuli at attended locations as compared to unattended locations (Handy & Khoe, 2005; Hillyard et al., 1998; Mangun & Hillyard, 1991; Mangun, 1995; Navalpakkam & Itti, 2007; Russo et al., 2003).
If so, are they really qualified for such group facilitation work?
….we see our primary role as that of facilitating collaborative approaches to problem solving and incremental progress, through a combination of leadership and facilitation work.
Further research is required to explore the importance of professional credibility in facilitation work within primary care.
The participating nursing homes of the intervention region are asked to invest significantly into this project: Firstly by exempting the chosen facilitator personnel from regular work for the sake of training (altogether some 70 hrs), secondly by allowing them to regularly exert the facilitation work.
Prior to each meeting, Hannah independently studied a specified portion of the materials (generally one PD session) by going through all of the provided facilitation resources, working out the mathematics problems, watching the associated video clips, and thinking carefully about recommended facilitation strategies.
