Prospective studies with long-term follow-up of patients recruited from disease onset are required in order to evaluate temporal variations in skin disease, in terms of rate and extent of progression and regression, among those with and without anti-RNAP.
The results for the eight assessed features of histopathological tumour regression in the uterus and omentum are shown in Table 3 and illustrated in Figure 2. Using Cox regression, we observed that the overall extent of tumour regression was related to a better PFS (HR=0.785, 95% CI 0.599 0.964) and a better OS (HR=0.707, 95% CI 0.482 0.943).
Subsequent locoregional treatment depended on the extent of tumour regression: radiotherapy was applied exclusively in case of complete regression, conservative surgery with axillary node dissection followed by radiotherapy were performed when tumour regression was incomplete with residual tumour measuring less than 2 cm in diameter; the remaining patients underwent mastectomy.
