The SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results) program of the USA [ 29] provides extensive cancer incidence data from 11 population-based registries.
However, because of the lower incidence, extensive analyses have been lacking.
Despite the extensive knowledge about incidence and survival rates for cancer in the western world, little information is available for the majority of developing countries [ 1, 2].
In regions of intense transmission, Plasmodium falciparum exhibits a highly outbred population structure characterized by extensive outcrossing, high incidence of multiple-genotype infections (MIs), low levels of linkage disequilibrium, and a low prevalence of genetically identical infections (Conway et al., 1999; Anderson et al., 2000; Zhong et al., 2007).
Multiple research methods, largely retrospective, have been used to examine the epidemiology of diagnostic error (for an extensive overview on incidence, see Graber's article in this issue) 10 Commonly used data sources include reports of malpractice claims, 6 11 chart reviews of selected diagnoses or hospital admissions 2 12 and autopsy reports.
Future strategies will need to focus on decreasing the incidence of extensive cGVHD without increasing the risk of relapse.
The estimated cumulative incidence of extensive cGVHD was 76.1%9595% CI: 67.4-83.9) at 2 years, with clinical features at presentation similar to other reported series.
Second, we did not enroll non-English speaking patients which also limits generalizability, although there is extensive literature on falls incidence worldwide and many non-English speaking patients face the similar barriers to engaging in falls prevention.
In agreement with the widespread incidence of extensive TCE and PCE plumes throughout the industrialized world, the experiment indicates such solvent plumes are likely to be highly mobile and persistent, at least in aquifers that are aerobic and have low sorption potential (low foc content).
