Thus, TMPAP expression and facilitated breakdown of ATP in the RVLM lowers arterial blood pressure in the SHR without affecting this hemodynamic variable in control animals, suggesting that ATP-mediated signaling contribute to the maintenance of systemic arterial hypertension in this model.
This high gene expression in late lactation suggests a likely increase in the synthesis and breakdown of bound sialylated conjugates at this stage.
