The relative abundance of each gene in the mRNA pool was deduced by determining the Trimmed Mean of M-values (TMM) normalized number of reads mapped in the exon region and classified into four expression categories: Very highly expressed (read count > = 1000), Highly expressed (1000 > read count > = 100), Medium expressed (100 > read count > = 15) and Low expressed (15 > read count > 5).
