In the rat brain, high densities of α7 nAChRs are found in the hippocampus, hypothalamus, and cortical areas, whereas they are expressed to lesser degrees in the striatum and cerebellum [5].
Other types of GLUTs (2, 4, and 7) are expressed in lesser amounts and in more discrete brain regions [ 47].
