Inhalation exposure was carried out in a mobile exposure system, the Ohio Air Pollution Exposure System for Interrogation of Systemic Effects, located at The Ohio State University Animal Facility (Columbus, OH, USA).
The exposure system is also capable of obtaining toxicological data.
The exposure system was validated by cell endocytosis measurements.
The Vitrocell® 24/48 exposure system used in this study has the following features (Figure 1).
