He did not say that a 1.6percentnt rise in manufacturing output is pathetic during a world boom, or that, despite the seemingly good export figure, we continued to lose market share.
"Expectations for yuan appreciation will continue to exist, but April's strong export figure alone will not have a big impact on timing," said Sun Wencun, an economist with CITIC Securities in Beijing.
"From this sense, we can say last month's export figure may reflect a true picture of the current trade situation".
The total export figure is still growing despite high material costs and RMB appreciation ("Opportunities and Challenges" 2014).
