In this workshop for ages 3 through 10 at the Skyscraper Museum, participants will explore the exhibition "Woolworth Building @ 100" and design their own skyscrapers with fanciful decorations.
In this workshop for ages 7 through 14 at the Skyscraper Museum, participants will explore the exhibition "Woolworth Building @ 100" and learn how to compare and contrast that landmark's design with examples of Gothic architecture.
The point of embarkation is the Skyscraper Museum, where children 6 and older will explore the exhibition "Vertical Cities: Hong Kong/New York" in a scavenger hunt for interesting facts about Hong Kong.
Groups of 10 to 15 people will explore the exhibition and then gather in the museum's cafe for fare catered by the Royal Tea Company of Trumbull, Conn., whose clients have included Martha Stewart and the Duchess of York.
As well as looking impressive the sculptures are also interactive courtesy of artist Matt Venn and sound artists Circumstance, so they have a reactive sound component and "come to life and digitally bloom, rhythmically illuminating and relaying sounds as visitors explore the exhibition".
