In the short-term exploratory spatial memory tasks—spontaneous alternation and Y-maze spatial novelty preference tests both Visc-2+/+ and Visc-2−/− mice performed well above chance levels (Fig. 7 F, G), with no significant difference in their activity in the apparatus (data not shown).
In the present study, a factorial experimental design was used to investigate the effects of chronic ethanol and dietary restriction treatments, associated or not, on Wistar rats' exploratory behavior, spatial memory aspects and cortical and hippocampal acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity.
Recordings were also performed from the hippocampus (HP), a subcortical structure related to sensory integration, exploratory behavior and memory formation [23].
