In the most effective settings, children were provided with "more experience of curriculum-related activities (especially language and mathematics)" (p. 5), and were encouraged to "engage in activities with higher intellectual challenges" (p. 5).
Experiences of curriculum development, pedagogy and assessment are explored and reflections based on the knowledge accumulated from attendance on a Professional Development Programme are presented.
