"exit test" is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
It refers to a test or assessment that is taken upon exiting a certain phase, program, or educational level. Example: As part of their graduation requirements, all students must pass an exit test to demonstrate their mastery of key subject areas.
The Regents would thus become an "exit test" for high-school graduation.
