There are three mutually exclusive and exhaustive factor types: type-I, type-II, and type-III.
GLFD using exhaustive factor search clearly outperformed SPC, especially when more latent factors regulate the gene expression together with the clinical factor (right column).
The two red curves represent GLFD (solid: exhaustive factor search; dashed: sequential factor search), and the two blue curves represent SPC (solid: cross validation - based cutoff selection; dashed: cutoff based on the true number of genes belonging to the module).
Three levels of measurement noise were simulated, with signal to noise ratio (S/N) equal to 0.5, 1, and 2. Two versions of GLFD were tested, one with exhaustive factor search, the other with sequential factor search.
By comparing the two red curves, we can see that GLFD using exhaustive factor search performed better than using sequential factor search in the original version of MLSA, which missed some latent factors when the signal to noise ratio was low.

Recent literature point at several mechanisms for host DNA damage during pathogen colonization (this list is not exhaustive): Factors released from the bacteria cause DNA damage: Campylobacter jejuni cytolethal distending toxin (CDT), a protein toxin affecting the cell cycle of the host, can induce DNA damage responses in human cells.
The USAEME process provided an efficient and exhaustive extraction (enrichment factor ∼100) and, after centrifugation, the extract was ready for GC analysis.
Although the decoding complexity of the eavesdropper is expected to be high, it is prudent to assume that the eavesdropper might have unlimited computational power, which would allow it to perform ML detection using exhaustive search, so Factor 3 could be compromised.
Unfortunately, the time-consuming calculation of Bayes Factors makes exhaustive model search using Bayes Factors currently prohibiting.
Reported methods often stated, for example, 'Risk factors examined included...'....., but it was not clear whether the subsequent list was exhaustive, and risk factors could often be determined only from those reported in the results, which in some cases were only those selected by a modelling process or only those that were statistically significant.
The list is not exhaustive and some factors may belong to several categories.
