Using Smal1 RAYT sequence as query, exhaustive BLAST search was performed to identify RAYT homologs in other prokaryotic organisms.
Mas homologs in the M. smegmatis genome, which was not covered by the NCBI database, were identified by exhaustive BLAST querying of the TIGR proteome.
